Mentor Arabia is the first regional member of the Mentor family, covering the 22 nations of the Arab League: Algeria, Bahrain, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
Mentor Arabia is committed to advocating for drug prevention and promoting the health and well-being of children and young people in the Arab World.
To achieve its mission, Mentor Arabia aims at:
1. Disseminating data, information and research and sharing knowledge on drug prevention and youth in the Arab World by:- Establishing a resources center on drug prevention and youth;
- Conducting and publishing researches and reports on drug prevention and;
- Analyzing the drug-prevention component in national strategies of Arab countries.
2. Empowering institutions, civil society organizations and individuals active in the field of drug prevention by:- Providing them with targeted drug-prevention programs;
- Offering them capacity-building assistance and;
- Mapping and matching best practices in drug prevention throughout the Arab World.
3. Influencing public opinion by:- Sensitizing decision-makers and opinion-makers on the importance of drug prevention and;
- Encouraging communities to embrace the cause of drug prevention.
Based in Beirut, Lebanon, Mentor Arabia is headed by a Board of Trustees chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Turki Bin Talal Bin Abdul Aziz.
